The Comedy Bothy Presents… SCOTT REDMOND

Scott Redmond is Scotland’s leading Romani poet and comedian who has taken his solo shows to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Glasgow International Comedy Festival.
As a poet, he has won several slams, including the Inky Fingers ‘Bad Boy’ slam, and the New Jersey Story Slam (‘Nutty Scratcher’ award), and competed in the Scottish National Poetry Slam. His debut collection ‘Kissing in the Moonlight is Just Taunting Werewolves’ was published by HybridDreich in 2021.
As a comedian, he has headlined gigs across Scotland, England, Australia, Holland, Thailand, Cambodia, and Germany. Scott has also done paid work in the USA, and Ireland. He was a finalist in the postponed 2020 Chortle National Student Comedy Awards, and performed at the comedy arena to over 1200 people at the Latitude Festival, as well as appearing regularly at notable British clubs such as The Stand, Hot Water Comedy Club, Breakneck Comedy and many others. In 2024, Scott had the opportunity to headline a national tour of Cambodia for the organisation Comedy in Cambodia, as well as having a two month headline residency at the Comedy Joint in Bangkok, where he headlined above comedians who have had Netflix specials. He also helps to run Icebreaker Comedy club, Dundee’s leading comedy club.

He will be joined by a bevvy of highland talent. The evening is hosted by longtime Bothy performer Hazel Urquhart. Hazel is known all up and down Scotland as a vivacious, sharp, intelligent and witty comic. We are lucky to have her host such a show.
